Alexey Cherevan is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Division of Molecular Materials Chemistry at TU Wien. With a Master’s Degree from Moscow State University (2010), a PhD from the University of Münster (2014), and a Habilitation from TU Wien (expected 2024), he has established a unique set of expertise with molecular (homogeneous) and solid-state (heterogeneous) photocatalysts – including their synthesis, characterization, and activity evaluation – and now work at the crossroad between the two fields. His expertise further includes in-depth fundamental studies on interfacial processes, kinetics, and mechanisms of (photo)catalytic reactions, as well as the design of advanced nanostructures for energy conversion applications.
